 NEW TEAM MEMBER

On Monday 14th November 2016 we welcome Lesley Barrie to our team as our ADVANCED NURSE PRACTIITONER.  This is a brand new positin and we are very excited about this.  Lesley has worked for many years as an advanced nurse practitioner in a hospital setting and she is looking forward to  moving into general practoice now. She is able to see most acute illnesses and will see patients in a similar way to the GP's in the practice, so don't be surprised if you are offered an appointment with her, rather than a GP.

Our existing practice nurse (Ruth) continues to work in the practice in her usual role.

Please be patient with us all as she settle into her new role!!

BACK SCANNING OF 'HISTORIC' PATIENT GP MEDICAL RECORDS

NHS Lanarkshire and your GP Practice have begun a process to have all 'HISTORIC' paper GP pateint records scanned and held with your current electronic GP records.  This will improve the efficiency of the storage of 'HISTORIC' patient records which currently take up storage space in yor practice.  This shoud also help the practice in its continued delivery of high quality pateint servcies.

The most efficient way to achieve this is to use a third party processor to convert the old records which will take in the region of four weeks.  NHS Lanarkshire and your practice manager are managing the process.  Approximately six months after the scanning of the records is complete your 'HISTORIC' GP paper record will be securely destroyed.

Repeat Prescriptions

These are the ways in which to order your repeat prescription:blue_yellow_pills

  • In Person - Fill in the request sheet which comes along with your prescription and place it in the post-box situated on the ground floor of the health centre (within the main entrance)

  • Telephone  - Call the repeat prescription request number (01698 753 976) and leave a message. Please make your request clear by informing us of your name and address, the drug name, dose, and frequency of administration.

  • Online - You can now order your own repeat prescriptions online.  Please ask our reception staff for details on how to register for this service.

If we cannot identify what you are looking for then your prescription will be delayed until clarification can be obtained.

Prescriptions will normally be generated within 4 working days (this does not include weekends).

Please keep track of when your medication is likely to run out as repeat prescription requests which become urgent as a result of poor planning will not be prioritised. 

 

Requests for prescriptions not on repeat 

Should you wish to request medication that is not on a repeat prescription please call the main practice number between 10am and 12 noon and select the appropriate option to discuss with a staff member. You will need to provide your name and address, the exact name of the medication you require, the dose, the frequency of administration and when you last had a prescription for it.

Prescriptions will normally be generated within 4 working days (this does not include weekends).

Please keep track of when your medication is likely to run out as Special Prescription Requests which become urgent as a result of poor planning will not be prioritised. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE RUN OUT OF MEDICATION ENTIRELY, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ASK YOU TO LIAISE WITH YOUR LOCAL PHARMACY TO OBTAIN AN EMERGENCY SUPPLY FROM THEM- WE MAY NOT PRIORITISE YOUR REQUEST. 

 

Medication reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.
